It’s official! In case you didn’t tune in to our local weather sage, Wiarton Willie, for his big day of predictions – spring is just around the corner. While it’s been a mild winter, to say the least, the thought of getting out into the garden is enough to excite most green thumbs. This season, Growing for Green is pleased to offer new and returning educational workshops. And as a special thanks to all our supporters, we’ve decided to introduce reduced rates for people who sign up early, and for students and seniors.
Whether you plan to plant a fruit tree in your yard or establish an orchard in your community, Growing for Green provides the know-how you need to make your orchard healthy, productive and successful. Make a commitment to give your trees the best care available. Check out our partial course list below and get ready for spring now. Additional workshops will be added later once details are confirmed.
We’ve made it easier for you to register for workshops online. Simply visit the Eventbrite website at http://growingforgreen.eventbrite.ca. Of course, you can still arrange to pay by cheque or cash by e-mailing us at growingforgreen@gmail.com but sadly we can’t reserve your spot until we receive payment. For most events, please meet at the Harvest Table in Ben Nobleman Park Community Orchard (located on Eglinton Ave. W., at Allen Rd., just across from the Eglinton West subway station). Most workshops take place outside unless listed otherwise, in rain or sunshine, so dress accordingly for conditions. In case of extreme weather, we will move to an indoor location.
Workshop fees
$45 regular
$35 early bird NEW! (you must register two weeks prior to event)
$25 students/seniors NEW! (ID required)
