Our Saturday began bright and early at 8:00 a.m. with a team of volunteers ready to tackle one of the biggest jobs of the season: cleaning up the pollinator garden before our annual plant sale.

This Saturday is shaping up to be a big day in the orchard. Not only is it Stewardship Day, but it’s also our annual plant sale, thanks to Gisele, who has grown a wonderful collection of seedlings for us to sell.
We’ll also be offering an orchard tour during the sale, led by Sarah and Ellie.
As many of you know, several recent stewardship days were rained out, and the pollinator garden has become a little overgrown. The good news is that all that growth means we have lots of plants to divide and sell. The challenge is that we also need to tackle some maintenance before seedling trees, rootstock suckers, and weeds take over and make the garden harder to care for in the months and years ahead.
So we’re launching:
If you can, please join us at 8:00 a.m. for an extra hour of garden cleanup before our regular stewardship session begins.

Looking for some beautiful garden plants at great prices? (Cash only please)
Join us on Saturday June 27 at the Ben Nobleman Park Community Orchard (1075 Eglinton Ave. West, across from Cedarvale Subway Station) for our fundraising plant sale.
We’ll have a wonderful selection of seedlings and plant divisions, including cayenne peppers, Marconi sweet red peppers, bee balm, boneset, borage, rosemary, lavender, coreopsis, blanket flower, African violets, asters, wild columbine, pearly everlasting, yarrow, and more.
The sale starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Harvest Table. All proceeds support the orchard and help pay for mulch, supplies, and other orchard needs.
At 10:30 a.m., join us for a free orchard tour to learn about our fruit trees and community programs. The event ends at 11:00 a.m.
You’ll also have a chance to learn about volunteer opportunities and find out how you can get involved.
